I didn't really like TV until I discovered Friends. I fell hard and fast for Rachel, Ross, Monica, Chandler, Phoebe, and Joey, and Friends will always be one of my most beloved shows. But if I had to choose just one show to ever see again, I'd pick Friday Night Lights. If I had to choose a favorite season of a show, I'd pick The Wire season four. And if I had to pick a favorite episode, I'd pick the season six finale of Grey's Anatomy.
I just watched a clip of Sara Ramirez on The View today. She looked beautiful, as always, but what’s up with all the unnecessary weight loss?! No me gusta. Between her and Jennifer Hudson last night, it makes me sad. Almost everyone just gives in to Hollywood pressures eventually. I mean, yeah, Sara’s getting married, etc., but still. She did not need to lose weight to be healthy or look good. In fact, one of my favorite things about Callie is how confident and comfortable she is with herself. She’s hot and she knows it. I swear to lucifer if Adele is the next one to jump on the bandwagon, I will lose my shit.
All the awards to Adele! Well deserved. She was so cute in her Album of the Year acceptance speech. I loved her performance dress, too.
I fear this might get me some hate mail, but Taylor Swift, go home. No me gusta. At all. And what was with the weird 1920s getup/set she had on while singing? It looked like a bad high school set.
The Civil Wars, on the other hand, were amazing. Gotta listen to some more of them.
Kelly Clarkson looked awesome and sounded awesome. I think Fantasia was my favorite American Idol winner in the moment (or, as a contestant on the show), but Kelly is definitely my favorite post-Idol winner.
Jennifer Hudson did a pretty great job singing “I Will Always Love You” but I wish she’d cool it with the voice modulation or whatever it’s called. Just sing. Your voice is out of this world; you don’t need to make it “fancy.”
Why no Etta in the tribute to people who passed away!?!?!?
Adam Levine looked HOT. I know this is also an unpopular opinion, but I kinda verge between hating him as an arrogant prick and thinking he’s really amusing. But tonight, he was just plain smokin’ hot.
Chris Brown, go home. Nope, I’m not referencing his personal life or Rihanna. His performance was bad. Really bad.
Yet another one I don’t like at all is Carrie Underwood, but I LOVED both of her dresses tonight. And obviously the girl can sing.
Top 10 Glee Songs | #1. “Rumour Has It/Someone Like You” - Mercedes, Santana, and The Troubletone (S3E6)
I was absolutely captivated watching this performance. I had been sort of slouching down on the couch with my arms crossed when it first started because I so pissed at all the shit that had just gone down in the episode, but by the end of this performance I was literally on the edge of my seat. My friend and I turned to each other when it was over, made faces conveying our amazement and then re-watched it three times.
As I stated in an earlier post, Amber Riley can basically do no wrong in the singing department as far as I’m concerned. She’s brilliant, and this performance was no exception. But the song belonged to Santana. Naya was fucking FIERCE. She packed so much raw emotion into these few minute, it astounds me. She conveyed all of the anger, humiliation, and vulnerability that Santana was feeling. At the same time, with every glance at Brittany, Santana also showed just how much she loves her. I think Naya’s performance was a more nuanced and powerful reaction to everything she was feeling than spoken dialogue ever could have been.
